The primaries were more interesting than usual this year. The rise of the Tea Party movement is a big part of it. I like the fact that a relatively unknown candidate was able to garner 18 percent of the vote in the Governor’s race. [...]

Republicans: 97, 568 ballots were cast by Republicans in Dallas County!
These are great numbers. Last off year we had only 38,908.
Two years ago we had 92, 636. That means more people came out to vote last Tuesday than did to elect the last president during the primary.
For comparison purposes, the Democrats had only 56,680.
