Important Changes and how to Vote Dallas Right in 2010:

Last night your Excutive Board had a meeting about action. We’ve said we wanted to be more relevant, so here it is. We’re making some changes to how we do things and have some exciting events on the horizon.

First, we are changing our first Monday of the month Happy Hour to Thursday. We are also going to be adding a quick 15 minute training (mostly on how you can immediately help candidates/grassroots efforts). We know a lot of you want to volunteer and want to see action in the Republican party, so we’re going to start preparing you right now. We’ll call this short program Stepping Up.

Candidates: A lot of the candidates we’ve had speak aren’t looking for volunteers until August. However we think its never too soon to start spreading the word. So now with every candidate we will have a pre-planned action event so you can immediately start impacting their campaign.

We’re really excited about a few events we just planned. Start telling your friends and getting them on your calendar.

Politics SLAM/karaoke: feel like your voice isn’t heard? Frustrated by lying politicians, bad decisions and the direction of the country? Here’s your chance to tell us about it. In the spirit of poetry slams everyone has a 2 minute opportunity to speak their mind. (You don’t have to rhyme or be good at poetry, but be prepared to have some spoken word goodness come out of that mic!) Each slam will be recorded and posted on youtube. We also will try to address any local issues brought up in the next few meetings. Afterwards we’ll karaoke and chill. Expect this event to happen in May. Invite your tea party friends, conservative co-workers and anyone who wants to hear some republican passion.

Membership Drive (in conjunction with RPT Convention): following in the tradition of last year’s leadership, we will be having a week long membership drive ending with a candidate meet and greet for members only. Since the RPT Convention will be in Dallas this year, we want to build on our statewide connections. We will also be hosting many of our State YRs so we’re inviting them as well! More details and locations soon.

July 4th candidate fundraiser: We’re having a patriotic barbeque and fundraiser. There will be a small fee to get in and an auction. All money raised will go to our awesome adopted candidates to get them started on their races. Mark off July 4th for the YRs. (We will be double checking that this does not conflict with other Republican events)

In August the real work will start for most campaigns. But we think between “Stepping Up”, our new goals for candidates and these events we will have an awesome headstart on the elections. Now we just need you to step up and help us Vote Dallas Right.
