Meet our 2022 Dallas Young Republicans Board


Chad Cohen

Chairman- Dallas Young Republicans

Chad Cohen is the President of Lone Wolf Oil Co., LLC, an oil and gas company engaged in the acquisition of mineral and royalty interests in the Permian Basin. Before founding Lone Wolf in 2014, he worked for two years as a landman at a privately-held exploration and production company based in Dallas. He received his BBA in Finance with a Specialization in Alternative Asset Management from the Cox School of Business at SMU, where he graduated magna cum laude and was a Hunt Scholar. While at SMU, he served as President of SMU College Republicans for three years. A lifelong native of Dallas, he is a graduate of Trinity Christian Academy in Addison.


Harrison Moore

Vice President  of Programming

Harrison Moore is a highly motivated and accomplished professional with a strong background in both business and politics. Harrison grew up in Highland Park, where he graduated from Highland Park High School before earning a Bachelor's degree from Southern Methodist University.



Harrison has been a lifelong supporter of the Republican Party, and is looking forward to serving Dallas and growing the interest of other Young Republicans in the area. Recently, Harrison made a transition from Commercial Real Estate to the Technology Sector where he is currently working as a Sr. Account Manager. In his spare time, Harrison enjoys traveling, playing golf, and spending time with his family and friends.

Roger Shafer

Senior Advisor

Roger Shafer is Director of Capital Markets for Aspen Heights Partners, responsible for debt and equity financing. Before joining Aspen Heights he was an Associate in the Capital Markets group at Harwood International, and a Financial Analyst in the Capital Markets group at Cushman & Wakefield. Prior to Cushman, he was a Senior Investment Associate in the Wealth Advisory practice at The Northern Trust Company serving ultra-high net worth investors. Roger began his career at Stephens Inc. in the Private Client Group. He received his B.S.B.A in Financial Management & Investments from the Walton School of Business at the University of Arkansas, where he was a member of the student managed Arvest Bank Fund, and Sigma Chi Fraternity.

 

Roger serves on the Scholarship Committee for First Tee of Greater Dallas. He is also a member of TREC Young Guns, ALC Class of 2022, Stewards of the Wild, and the Dallas Petroleum Club.

William Mercer

Director of Membership

William is a Dallas native, born and raised, graduating from Shelton.  He attended the University of Texas where he received a degree in Radio-Television-Film.  After college William went to work in television, as a sportscaster. After a few years in the business, he decided to hang up the microphone and make the career move to education.   Currently William is in his 16th year as an educator. 

William has always been a lifelong Republican and has a passion for politics.  He worked in Governor Perry’s office during the special session of 2003.  To this day, William stays very active within the Republican party.  He has been a member of the Dallas Young Republicans for many years and is still the active director of membership. You can find William working on local campaigns throughout the city either block walking or phone banking.

In his free time, William enjoys hunting/fishing, spending time with family/friends, traveling and is an avid sports fan.  He is active at his church, Church of the Incarnation in many aspects.   William is also involved in civic and social clubs in Dallas.  He continues to help the Dallas Young Republicans grow into a strong organization and be a vocal voice for Republican’s throughout Dallas County. 

Charlie Kolean

Treasurer

Charlie Kolean has been involved in politics for over a decade as an activist, candidate, and party leader. Kolean is a Partner at Strategic Political Management, a full service political consulting firm based in Dallas, Texas. In 2020, Kolean was a bundler on the Trump Finance Victory Committee. Kolean has been in party leadership on the State and National level, and he has acted as an advisor to numerous elected officials, campaigns and Super PACs.


H. Preston Glasscock

Vice President  of Community Services

Preston Glasscock is a Litigator at the Dallas office of a large law firm. He assists clients during all phases of litigation, with experience in fiduciary duty disputes, competition, securities, intellectual property, constitutional law, environmental law, breach of contract, insurance, premises liability, and white-collar criminal law. In law school, Preston received awards for having the most outstanding record in his graduating class in the areas of Evidence and Administrative Law, respectively. His first experience as a practitioner was in the Washington & Lee University School of Law Black Lung Clinic, where he argued before an administrative law judge, and was a member of a three-student team that submitted an amicus curiae brief to the Supreme Court in California v. Texas on behalf of America's coal miners.
 
Preston was raised in Beaumont and Dallas, Texas. Outside of work, he serves on the Washington & Lee Dallas Alumni Chapter Board, and is a member of the Park Cities Presbyterian Church, Maverick PAC, and Dallas Petroleum Club. As an undergraduate, Preston played on the Austin College Kangaroo tennis team from 2014-2017, serving as Captain for the 2017 season.

Meredith Allen

Director of Communications

Originally from Shreveport, Louisiana, Meredith graduated from the University of Mississippi with a B.S. in Business Administration and a Master of Business Administration. She served as Vice-President of her MBA class and was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma. Meredith also served as a Staff Member for Congressman Jim McCrery, Representative for the Fourth Congressional District of Louisiana.

 

After graduating from Ole Miss, Meredith lived in Washington D.C. where she was a member of the Junior League of Washington and attended the Protocol School of Washington. She is a certified Protocol Officer and a Consultant in Corporate Etiquette and International Protocol. She served as Protocol Assistant to the Office of the Speaker, United States Congress.

 

Meredith moved to Dallas in 2014 to attend SMU where she graduated with a Master of Education. Meredith also served the community as the President of Slipper Club of Dallas from 2017-2018 and is a member of the Junior League of Dallas.

 

Currently, she is a North Texas Regional Development Officer for The Folds of Honor, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing scholarships to spouses and children of America’s fallen and disabled service members. 

Ashleigh Leathers

Director of Social Activities

Ashleigh Leathers moved to Dallas in August of 2021, and she is happy to be here! Upon moving to this great state, she jumped right into attending DYR events. Born and raised in California, Ashleigh graduated from Menlo School and University of San Diego. She has served as the Vice President of the USD Alumni Group in Orange County for eight years. In college she was a chaplain and involved in the college republican club. She also serves as the Vice President of Public Affairs for the Junior League of Orange County. Ashleigh has been involved in human trafficking awareness for fourteen years. She has a background in event planning and looks forward to a great year for DYR and this great state of Texas.

Houstoun Waring

Secretary

A native of New Orleans, Houstoun has been interested in politics for as long as he can remember. He currently serves as Director of Retail Merchandising and Business Development Consultant for Mister Tuxedo, a family-owned tuxedo shop that has been a staple of the Park Cities since 1961. A licensed CPA, he previously practiced international tax at Deloitte Tax, LLP, where he helped advise clients in global tax planning and compliance. Houstoun received his Bachelor of Business Administration and Master of Science in Accounting degrees from the Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University, where he was a BBA Scholar and an active member of the SMU College Republicans and the SMU Sailing Team.

 

Houstoun is active in a number of civic organizations in Dallas. He currently serves on the Board of Governors of the Honor Guard, whose members support the annual Dallas Symphony Orchestra League Presentation Ball, which is the largest fundraiser for the Dallas Symphony Orchestra League and supports the community outreach programs of the Dallas Symphony Association. He is a recipient of the Lois Monk Watson award for outstanding service to the Honor Guard and Symphony League and is working on a book commemorating the first thirty years of the Presentation Ball and Honor Guard.

 

Houstoun is also a member of the IBEX Business Club, the Salvation Army Echelon, the Dallas Safari Club Conservation Society, Ducks Unlimited, and the Dallas Petroleum Club.

Molly Livingstone

Director of Social Media

Molly is a native Dallasite and graduate of Texas A&M University. Her faith in Jesus is first and foremost the most important thing in her life. Her faith informs her politics, which has led to a passion for the pro-life movement. 

She has worked in social media marketing for 10 years, and enjoys merging her love of politics with her love of Instagram.
